Aglianico is an Italian Red varietal, originally grown in southern Italy near Naples. Full-bodied and robust, our Aglianico was barrel aged in neutral oak barrels for two years. Barrel aging in neutral oak, allows the flavor profile of the wine to smooth and the delicious flavor of the grapes to shine without being masked under the taste of oak.
Aglianico, with its deep red color, is a dry, full-bodied, red wine with strong tannins. It has hints of dark cherry, tobacco, black pepper, and currants.
Aglianico pairs well with barbecued meats, Asiago cheese, and roasted mushrooms, to name a few. In addition, it goes great with an appetizer of salami, cheddar cheese, and crackers.
